Publication Ethics
The Journal of Computer Science and Research (JoCoSiR) upholds the highest standards of publication ethics and strictly follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in the publication process — authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher — are expected to adhere to the following ethical principles.
1. Duties of Authors
-
Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original, have not been published elsewhere, and are not under consideration by any other journal.
-
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. All sources of data and references used must be properly cited.
-
Authors must avoid plagiarism in all its forms, including self-plagiarism and data fabrication or falsification.
-
All listed authors must have made a significant contribution to the research and the writing of the manuscript.
-
Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
-
If an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, it is their obligation to promptly notify the editor and cooperate with retraction or correction.
2. Duties of Editors
-
Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based solely on the academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance of the manuscript to the scope of the journal.
-
Editors must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and editorial board members.
-
Editors must ensure a fair double-blind peer review process and avoid any conflict of interest.
-
Editors should take appropriate measures if ethical complaints are raised concerning a submitted or published paper, including retracting or correcting articles when necessary.
3. Duties of Reviewers
-
Reviewers assist the editors in making editorial decisions and should provide constructive feedback to help authors improve their manuscripts.
-
Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and not use the content of submitted manuscripts for personal advantage.
-
Reviews should be conducted objectively, with supporting arguments, and without personal criticism of the author.
-
Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and should decline the review if a conflict exists.
4. Duties of the Publisher
-
The publisher ensures that all publishing activities are carried out in compliance with internationally accepted ethical standards.
-
The publisher works closely with editors to maintain academic integrity and transparency in the publication process.
-
The publisher is committed to the permanent availability and preservation of scholarly content through proper digital archiving systems.
5. Ethical Oversight
Any suspected case of unethical behavior, such as plagiarism, data manipulation, authorship dispute, or duplicate publication, will be investigated following COPE’s flowcharts and procedures. Proven misconduct may result in rejection, retraction, or other corrective actions as deemed appropriate by the editorial board.
